Our service area includes Southeastern Maine, Seacoast New Hampshire, The Lakes Region, The White Mountains, and Boston's North Shore.

With our roots in architecture and our heart in building, we are uniquely qualified to collaborate with your architect, interpreting their sketches and ideas, proposing means and methods for construction, and working with the team to identify budget impacts. We combine our expertise in design, construction management, and materials to meticulously bring your architect’s vision to life.

If you don’t have an architect or designer, we’ll gladly work with you to assemble the right design team for your project. At MQ Build, every project is unique, and we’ll be by your side every step of the way.

About the owner

David Malmquist

Builder, Construction Supervisor, Architect

Dave founded Malmquist Builders in 2016 to offer homeowners and design firms top-tier construction services. A registered architect in New Hampshire and Maine and a licensed Construction Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Malmquist regularly leverages his architecture experience to inform the build process.

As a builder, Malmquist is very focused on materials, environment, and resilience and pays particular attention to the means and methods of the construction of the building envelope on all projects.

With over 25 years of experience in the design and build fields, Dave has managed several large-scale, high risk and complex projects in the US and Canada. He is a proactive, positive leader with a natural ability to bring teams together and foster collaboration and communication, and has an innate ability to quickly analyze conditions, identify potential exposures, and propose sound solutions—both technically and within in the workflow.
